The Erasmus+ KA220-SCH project Connected Minds, United Actions: Digital and Peer Collaboration for Inclusion and Sustainability has successfully completed ACT 5.1 – Students’ Sustainability Awareness Survey, marking an important first step in the implementation of Work Package 5 focused on environmental sustainability and awareness.
The online survey involved a total of 216 students from six European partner countries, including participants from both partner schools and local newcomer schools. Developed with the support of environmental education experts, the survey aimed to assess students’ existing knowledge, attitudes, and awareness related to sustainability topics before the launch of major WP5 activities.
The main objectives of the survey were to measure students’ initial sustainability awareness, establish a reliable baseline for future project evaluation, and provide guidance for upcoming environmental education activities across all partner schools. By collecting this data at the beginning of the project, partners will be able to better monitor progress and evaluate the long-term impact of project activities on students’ environmental understanding and engagement.
The survey results revealed very encouraging outcomes. More than 85% of participating students demonstrated strong awareness of key sustainability concepts, including recycling, renewable energy, biodiversity protection, climate change, and environmentally responsible behavior. The findings also highlighted students’ growing interest in sustainable lifestyles and environmental action within their schools and local communities.
These insights will directly support the planning and implementation of future WP5 activities, including awareness campaigns, sustainability workshops, learning mobilities, digital storytelling projects, and international collaboration initiatives. The results will also help partners adapt educational approaches to students’ needs and strengthen the project’s contribution to environmental education.
Through activities such as ACT 5.1, Connected Minds, United Actions continues to promote sustainability awareness, active participation, and responsible citizenship among young people across Europe.
